Since the beginning its team of professionals have created a winning synergy that transcends in and throughout the community. As a direct result of these efforts and accomplishments, in 2004 the company received an award for company of the year. In addition, its founding member and CEO, John Roth received another award for Businessman of the year. The Team

 Carlo Cioffi - CFO/CPA
Carlo has been with the Highbridge Development since it’s inception. Prior to joining the company he worked in public accounting for 14 years, handling a board range of clients while specializing in the construction industry. Carlo handles all financial aspects of the business and has strong relationships with the local banking and insurance industries. Carlo is also the CFO for four affiliate companies, which are Highbridge Management, Highbridge Broadway, Plank, LLC and LJC Development. 

Dick Schlansker - VP Marketing Business Development
Dick’s primary role is finding, creating and developing business relationships. Since joining the team in 1990, his hard work, dedication and integrity has created a large satisfied client base. Using his 22 years of experience in the construction industry, Dick specializes in turnkey design and build general construction projects. The execution of contracts, developing of site an building designs, obtaining approvals and taking on the role of project executive during construction are all part of this process. Dick has a BA degree in economics from the State University College at Potsdam.

 Don Piel - Director of Field Operations/ Project Manager
Don started his own construction company when he was just 18 years old, which he ran until 1997. We recruited him at PCCI and Subsequently for Plank LLC, for his self-motivation, problem solving & design capabilities. He has worked as a superintendent, an estimator & now a project manager. Don is also the director of Field Operations, which consists of running our labor force and controlling our equipment. 

 Steve Mattson - Sr. Project Manager
Steve Mattson has over 30 years experience on commercial and institutional projects ranging from high and low rise office buildings, alterations and additions to existing buildings, medical facilities, educational institutions, retail establishments, banks and restaurants. He is a construction professional with an extensive knowledge and thorough understanding of the building construction industry, its processes, participants, relationships, and contractual arrangements. He knows the importance of communication and teamwork, how to get to the core of a problem and get things done. Steve’s ability to establish relationships of trust and confidence with his clients is his most valued accomplishment. 

 Dean Mello - Project Manager
Dean Mello has over 10 years of experience in construction and engineering management. He offers a broad background in the development and construction of commercial and retail properties, shopping centers, distribution centers and offices. As project manager, Dean is the primary interface between the client, architects and field personnel and coordinates all functions of assigned projects starting from pre-construction services to final completion and closeout. 

John Mastromarchi - Project Estimator
John Mastromarchi has 31 years of experience in estimating of commercial, industrial and institutional buildings, including hotels, colleges, office buildings and wastewater treatment plants. John is a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College where he earned a degree in Construction Technology. Following Hudson Valley, John attended Union College where he studied Civil Engineering.

  Theo Knebel - Project Designer
Theo has been involved in site planning and building design/illustration for over 40 years. Before joining Highbridge Development, he worked with BBL Construction Services of Albany. He is a 1963 graduate of ESF School of Landscape Architecture and holds a license in Landscape Architecture. He has completed postgraduate studies in structures, AutoCAD and commercial fine arts. Theo has designed numerous sites and buildings throughout the Capital region as a member of architectural and planning firms.

 Dan Thornton - Principal Broker/Property Manager
Dan L. Thornton, CCIM—has over eight years experience as a licensed real estate broker managing commercial facilities such as high-rise office buildings, office parks and community retail centers. Previous business experience includes thirteen years of retail store management and eleven years of combined manufacturing/procurement management.
